At Elite Dental Care, we can provide dental implants to patients seeking a secure, durable solution for missing teeth. If you are a candidate for this procedure, we can perform the surgery at your first appointment and will then place your final restoration after your jaw has fully healed in about three months. Our patient David Nelson explains how the choice to receive an implant-supported restoration has improved his quality of life.View transcript
Dr. Buchanan: Okay, an implant is a titanium component that we do a small, surgical procedure and place in your jawbone. After three months, the bone grows around the implant, and then we will attach a prosthesis on top of the implant. We can put a crown to replace a missing tooth. We can do a removable appliance, like I said, of dentures, that comes in and out. We can also screw in a set of dentures that do not come out. So the main thing when we were looking and seeing if you're a candidate for implants is the amount of bone you have. If you have enough bone, we place the implant. It takes about three months before that implant is ready to be loaded. What loading means is, actually placing a tooth, or a denture, on top of the implant. In some cases, it may take six months. Sometimes we have to extract a tooth, we have to graft the socket. So three to six months is usually how long it takes. David: I had dental work in the past, bridges, partials, things like that. And they had got to a point where I needed some work and the implants became a topic for me to think about. And once I had the implant procedures, and all those things done that Dr. Clint did for me, it really changed my life. I mean, I can eat any type of food I want to eat now, it's really great, really great, yeah. I've got a friend in Union City, Tennessee that is a dentist himself, and he recommended the type of work that I needed. He recommended Elite Dental, they were a good candidate to do that. The support staff here at Elite is one of the best. I mean, they took care of me. I've personally got to know them, and as I came many, many trips to get the procedures done that I had done, and they're like family to me. I mean, they know my first name and when I come by or stop, I might bring them a donut or something sometimes because I love them, I do. They're good people, yeah. Very happy with the results that Dr. Clint and the staff here has provided me. I would recommend them to anybody. They're really professional and they're really a good staff here, and good doctors. I'd recommend them to anyone, sure. When I came here, I had the fear of coming to the dentist. And Dr. Clint and his staff they've got the sedation that you can take now, just a couple little pills. It's not like it used to be, but they're really good here.
