Dr. Mike Farrar found his calling in dentistry with the help of Dr. Harper. He thoroughly enjoys his work and the opportunity it provides to meet new people and grow relationships with his patients. Dr. Farrar is personally invested in maintaining the oral health of each of his patients and strives to provide them with the best care available.
So I've been out of school for about five years now. I have been with Elite Dental Care all five of those years. Graduated from LSU Dental School. Did my undergrad at Ole Miss. So it is actually kind of a funny story. I went to college with Dr. Harper's son and was pursuing a degree in medicine, or pre-med, and got to know Dr. Harper's son real well and then Dr. Harper through him real well. And he talked to me a lot about dentistry and how much he enjoyed it, about how much he enjoyed practicing dentistry, getting to know the patients, the lifestyle that it provided, getting to know everybody in the community. And he kind of talked me in, or at least got me looking into dentistry. And the more I looked into it, the more it seemed like it was the right fit for me. So I kind of have it all to owe to Dr. Harper that I went into dentistry. What I find most satisfying about being a dentist is probably just getting to know such a wide group of people. We have a large practice, two large practices, with a large patient base and we get to see several, several people every day. Constantly meeting new people, getting to meet their families, developing relationships with those people, and then helping them with their oral health. Okay. So I've got a wife, Sara, and two little girls. A two-year-old named Ellie and we just had another little girl named Connelly. She's about 10 weeks now. Life is a little hectic outside of work, but I love every minute of it. When I do get some personal time, I like to do a lot of running and cycling. We love spending time outside together. We go hiking a lot and camping and things like that. So we always seem to be on the move, like going out of town, seeing new places and it keeps us busy. So one of my passions is creating good overall health and your oral health has so much to do with that. I really believe that the key to a good overall healthy lifestyle is good oral health. I think that when patients come to see me that we can develop a very honest relationship with one another, a very caring relationship with one another, and they'll truthfully be treated like someone that is part of my family. Developing that relationship with them is very, very important to me and I think that will lead to good overall health.

I was really impressed! They were super nice and professional. They were very informative with each step of the process. They seemed to have a desire to go above and beyond.
